American's are the best?

Don't get me wrong, I love America and being an American. However, I hate it when people say that American's are the best or things like, "We'll pull through because we're Americans". This kind of talk implies that American's are different than other people.

In my view, humans are humans. Put a human in a certain situation and 'it' will respond in a predictable way. We follow the laws of probability, just like everything else. There's going to be the spectrum, the average to the extreme. People should stop being proud they're American or Christians or whatever. Accept reality. Accept that we're responsible for our own destiny and accept that we would probably do what others do, given a different set of circumstances.
